Her name is Blessing's Mother (Bana Mapalo). I met her in January 08 during one of evangelism Friday. I was passing her house when my name was called (It happens often...) and I was invited to her house to share Jesus. Blessing was only a few days old at the time when I met them. It looked to me that the little house was shared between two adult ladies without the presence of a man. I shared with them the Gospel and they graciously accepted the message and prayed the prayer of acceptance of Jesus' Lordship and His salvation upon their lives. I revisited them a few more times, shared with them a few stories of Jesus, and encouraged them to follow Him wholeheartedly. It seemed that they were growing in the Spirit and they were sharing what they've learn with others. I was happy to see them and I enjoyed all the visiting I shared with them. Then one day, I went to visit the same house, and I was ready to teach another story, but at the door, I was told not to come in. I could tell that they were embarrassed and ashamed, but I was a bit confused. I asked for an explanation, and that's when they had told me that they had medicine (amulet) inside the house and that I just couldn't enter the house. I asked again why, and they told me that they needed it for Blessing. I then asked if they trust God, they told me "Yes" for sure...but they still needed it. My heart was broken that day.
Someone in our Missionary Training last week told us that most Africans are a 'pack rat' for their beliefs. They take everything in but do not throw anything away. They choose to believe Jesus and yet still have to rely upon their old belief 's. What a sad story we had.
I am not writing this to embarrass our sisters and brothers of Zambia. I am writing this to ask and plea for your prayer. This won't stop without prayers. YOUR PRAYER. Why don't you stop what you are doing right now to pray for Blessing's mother and many like her. Pray for Zambia to see and trust the Lord who is our only HOPE. Pray that our work will expose the Light to many people, and bring them to eternal peace from great fear they live in. Pray that we will not grown weary of doing what we suppose to do.

[Grace Kim's Story]
My husband, Daniel, and I have been working in Zambia for over 7 years now. I thank God for this opportunity to share what is happening in my life in Zambia with you. Our family moved to Zambia in the year 2000 as missionaries. Before I came here, when someone asked me the question "Where are you from?" I had difficult time answering the question. I was born and raised in Korea, and lived in the USA for 15 years....... but now I can answer that question easily, because Zambia became my home. I love Zambia, the people, and the work that we do here.
God sent me to Zambia not because He loves Zambians, but because He loves me so much! He has changed me, and He still does today. He uses my testimony in a way that brings glory to Him. He gives us a fresh desire of love for the Zambians, makes us kneel down for them, and gives us a burden to share Jesus everyday.
Our work is focus on personal evangelism, PE training, teaching of God's word, leadership training, and strengthening churches. Daniel and I work together. When he teaches men, I teach women. When we go out for evangelism, we go in separate ways, but we cross paths often, because we are in the same village. (The attached picture was taken from one of our evangelism days.) He and I are best friends, co-workers, and great companions to each other. The strong relationship in our marriage has helped us through Enoch and Aaron's departure to university. Enoch and Aaron are happy where they are, doing great in their school, and adjusting well in the State life. Praise the Lord!!! :)
We can say all this because of God's grace and your prayer. I thank God for His sufficient grace each day, and for your faithful prayers. Thank you!
[Prayer Requests]
1. Please pray for a revival in Zambia. Zambia is a so-called "Christian-nation", and yet most of Christians are either sleeping or are staying as baby Christians.
2. Please pray that we will follow our Lord, not leading or demanding Him in our hurried plans.
3. Please pray that we will have joy over every person who responds to the Gospel.
4. Please pray that our work with churches will bear fruits of strong leadership.
5. Please pray for Humphry who became a new Christian a month ago through our ministry. He is walking with Jesus now. He has stopped drinking, started reading Bible, and witness to others with Daniel. He said His wife is in doubt about his conversion. Please pray that he will continue to walk with Jesus so that he will bring his family to his new Master. Pray that many people will turn their lives to Jesus through his testimony.
Thank you again for your faithfulness. We can be faithful, because He is faithful.

2007 was wonderful with your interceding before our Father for our lives and mission here in Kitwe, Zambia.
We know you will be with us again this year, 2008.
Today, we want to share with you about a particular day of in a compound. Follow us as we go down to the shanty compounds. As we share the gospel, most of the dialogs are spoken in ciBemba.
As Daniel finds a good spot to park the car, he stops it very slowly because many children gather around to see what these 'ba-sun-gu' (the word means white men, but it is used on us time to time) are up to. We pray for guidance and protection in a short prayer, and get out of the car. Little children find smiles on our face, and that's the cue for shouting the question they know, "How are you?". As we walk down to the path to the new place, we would answer "Fine, thanks, how are you?", but it never ends because that is the only phrase they want to practice on us.
Daniel finds a man sitting under a mango tree beside a hut, and says hi to him. His name is Joe. When Joe sees Daniel, he welcomes him by standing, brings him a small stool, and asks Daniel to sit. They shake hands. Daniel asks Joe if it is alright to talk with him about the good news. Joe says that would be fine because God's word is welcome in his house. Daniel then shares his testimony. At the end of the testimony, Daniel asks Joe if anything like it has ever happened to him. Joe would say things, and Daniel would notice the assurance of Joe's salvation is based on work rather then grace of God (Eph. 2:8) Daniel shares the Roman Road and invites Joe to receive Jesus as his Savior and Lord. Joe then says he would love to do that. They bow their heads together and say the sinner's prayer. After the sinner's prayer, Daniel would share how important it is to know and walk with Jesus in the new believer's life. Joe listens with a sincere heart, and asks Daniel to come and teach him again. Daniel promises to visit him again and goes to the next hut. Just like Joe, many people welcome us with things to sit on, some would say they are busy, and some would run away before we get to them. After 3 hours of meeting people, revisiting, telling bible stories, and praying, we would go back to our car always wondering if the car will be still there. (small faith!) :)
For days like this, we meet 10 to 20 (sometimes over 30) people who received Jesus as their Lord and Savior and at least one bible study group with Storying. We take with us a Bible, pen and a small note book, a water bottle, few booklets of John and Rome, few basic Bible study materials, some pain pills, and a umbrella. The umbrella is a very important item because the weather is either hot or rainy.
Pray with us that....
We will never loose our heart over this lost, so-called "Christian-nation" that most church-goers have believing in the work based salvation theory.
We will not be weary of the slow work of "Don't Take Them to Church, Make Them a Church" Church Planting Movement.
We will have joy over every person who responds to the Gospel.
Our work with churches will bear fruits of strong leadership.
Joe, Mumbwa, Humphry, Jared, Cosmos, Judith, Lungu, Mulenga, Levy, Katete, Rafael, and many others will follow Jesus as they made decision and prayed. Right now Joe (His full name is Joseph Polela) studies Bible daily and has small bible study group at his house every Thursday. Pray that people like Joe will become strong leaders to lead Zambian to Christ.

The Kims' November 2007
Thank you, praying friends!
Thank you for lifting us up to the Father who sustains us as we go out and share His word.
In the beginning of November, Daniel met Kingston at the Musonda compound. He and his friends were sitting in a hut talking when Daniel saw them together. He went in and introduced himself and shared the good news with them. Kingston, Hudson, Brian, and Mwenda responded with sincere hearts and accepted Jesus as their Lord and Savior of their lives. When Daniel revisited them the next week, Kingston asked serious question for him being a drug dealer. He had been dealing drugs to young high school boys in the hut. He said he wanted to live a clean life because he was with Jesus now. After Daniel shared his personal testimony, he counseled and prayed with him and left to go to another place to evangelize some more. On the third week that Daniel visited the place, he didn't see Kingston. His friends said that he was now a bus driver, no longer a drug dealer! God heard his prayers (why is it a surprise when things like this happen?! :)) and he has a new job! Daniel saw him driving a mini bus one day in Musonda. Daniel didn't see Kingston anymore in the hut, and that is our praise!
We shared and lead so many people to Christ this November, we can't even count them anymore! It is truly harvest time...so many people have been prayed for Zambia and we are seeing the finger of God everywhere!
Continue to pray for...
1. The people who heard the gospel and received the message and that they will carry it out to others.
2. According to the T4T training, we need to see people begin to carry the Gospel to their people...but it isn't happening. Please pray that God will change their hearts and they will obey Him. We will be able to find men of peace (like Timothy and Lydia who will host a bible study group in his/her home and be a leader of the group) in Musonda and Mwaiseni compounds. Right now we have two small groups that we are storying but they still lack leaders.
3. Our mind, bodies, and souls to be strong.
4. Our work with legacy churches. We are working with them on weekends. We will be able to encourage and train them to start new churches through evangelism.

October 2007
This month has been a wonderful but busy one for us. We evangelized, revisited; prayer walked, and met so many people in Musonda (Moo-son-dah) and Mwaiseni (moo-ah-ee-sany) compound. The total number of people who received the Lord as their Savior and Lord through our evangelism this month was 197. The number looks good, isn't it? :-) Our hearts are happy over their responsiveness, but also ached over their hesitance to take the next step. We pray that they will become a carrier of the good news to others as we nurture them with storying.
On the 9th of October, Daniel met with Green Phiri in Mwaiseni compound when he went there to evangelize. He was a member of a Covenant Church but didn't have the personal relationship with Jesus, so after he heard the gospel, he opened up his heart to Jesus with joy. When Daniel asked Green for prayer requests, he said to pray for him so he could stop drinking. Daniel prayed for him and left him with a story and a few bible verses. For three weeks now, he has been sober and is overjoyed with his victory in Christ. His family is very happy with him!!
We praise God for his goodness and His faithfulness. This month was a good one.
Now please pray with us for...
* Our work that it will continue without loosing patience or hope.
* The people who heard the gospel and received the message that they will carry it out to others.

September 2007
Dear friends,
We came back from the States a couple days ago, and still in the process of jet-lag. We had wonderful time with Enoch and Aaron. Even though it was difficult and sad to say good bye to Enoch, Aaron, our families and friends, we were thankful in knowing that our God is faithful yesterday, today, and tomorrow.
Praises
We had a safe trip to and from the States. Considering the fact that we were traveling on 9/11, our trip was easy! We didn’t miss the plane, there was no hassle with over weighted luggage, and no lost bags. PTL!
Enoch finished his first year of college with two thumbs up and is in his second year now!.
Aaron has just started his first year of college, already met many friends, and loves his school!
We had great time with many friends who support missions with their prayers and many other gifts. (We have gained so much weight from the good food they shared with us!)
Prayer Requests
Continue to pray for our new project. We are approaching our ministry a little differently then last seven years. It involves a lot of storing in evangelism, training, and church starting.
Pray that we will be absolute in following God’s direction and guidance.
Pray that we will be sensitive to His lead.
Pray that we will be prepared for storing in local language (ciBemba).

Praise God with us for His faithfulness!
* The ministry with the volunteers we had in June was great! Here is a part of Daniel’s report on what happened in that time.
In the Last two weeks of June, I, Grace and two volunteers went to 5 different villages to do broad seed sowing through door to door evangelism during the day and showing the Jesus film at night. With the Roman Road Gospel Story Tract in IciBemba I trained our nationals for an hour and went out for hut to hut Personal Evangelism. From 5 villages, 455 peoples made a profession of faith, and 9 of leaders memorized the Roman Road Gospel Story Tract in IciBemba through the training and field experience. Around 2000 people saw the Jesus film in 4 different villages and many people received Jesus Christ as their personal Savior and Lord after the film. PTL!
* The Fikundulu Women’s Conference was amazing!
I (Grace) had a “fit” when I heard that my translator couldn’t go with us to Fikundulu. I just didn’t know it was God’s perfect plan. Well, I have survived two days of teaching in IciBemba with mighty God’s power, and I also learned a great deal of many gifted leadership.
* Aaron graduated RVA on 14th of July.
Not only we were there for Aaron’s graduation, but also Daniel had a privilege of addressing the commencement at the graduation ceremony! What an honor it was! And the “preaching” was very well received by the graduates and others.
* Annual Mission Training Meeting
Sorry that we didn’t have time to ask you to pray for this, but it went very well. Dr. Frank Page taught us through the book of Jonah and more, and it was great and the fellowship was even better!

1. Aaron as he spends his last three weeks in Zambia with us. Pray for good memories and good times.
2. Aaron for his new adventure to the USA. He is going CBU (same as Enoch).
a Safe trip as we leave to the USA on 18th of August for three weeks. We will come back on the11th of September.
3. Our new project. After we come back from the states, we will do things a little differently then we are now. It involves a lot of storing in evangelism, training, and church starting. Pray that we will absolutely follow God’s direction and guidance. Pray that we will be sensitive to his lead. Pray that we will be ready for this on time.

Aaron graduated RVA 15 Jul 07!!!
We are proud and happy for him
February 14, 2007
His name is Shimutami (C-moo-tah-me). He is almost 60 years old who had been working in a mine company all his life. He used to ask his wife not to go to church, and if she really wanted to go, he would ask her not to take his children with her. So, his children did not know Jesus while they grew up in his home. Last year, he retired from the mine company and with his retirement money he bought a farm. He moved into a hut where water is a 10 minutes walk to get to, and no power. His children who were in school ages remained at his "town" house where they were born and grew up. In this situation, he met a pastor who shared the good news with him. Through him, he started to attend this little Baptist church on and off, and his wife was delighted about the change because she has been praying for her husband all her married life, which is over 30 years for him. One day, the pastor of the little church moved back to his village, which is far away. The people of the little church were crushed. They don't have enough members who were strong enough to continue doing the church construction, which they were building by small mud bricks. They stopped coming to church and went back to the wrong churches where they originally were before coming to this little church
One day not long after the pastor had gone back to his village we visited the church only to finding out that the building had collapsed and the people gone. What a devastated sight! Yet, two families were remaining. One of two was the Shimutamis. He looked embarrass about the church and its condition, and yet more committed. He and other men wanted to keep the church going. They wanted to have a basic Bible study to learn about what they have questioned all their lives, and to continue to grow up in the Holy Spirit.
After two months of Friday meetings with us, he has now almost finished a TEE book, learning to be disciple of Jesus, and is very exited about everything he has learned. What a change! His wife said that he did not want to miss a single lesson. She said that it was a miracle!
We have many Shimutamis in Zambia. They are young in Christ, and yet have heavy responsibilities to keep the church going. They become leaders…! We DO need to pray for them. When they are struggling to stand firm in Christ, we need to encourage, help, push, and pull through with the power of prayer.

Pray for leaders of churches of Zambia
Pray for our up-coming Prayer Retreat for Baptist Mission of Zambia. (March 23-25) That it would be recharging and refreshing time for us.
Pray for our work that we won't be discouraged nor take glory from our Lord.
Pray for Enoch and Aaron. Enoch is doing well in his school and life in the State. Thank you. Aaron will come home on March 23 for his last break before his graduation (July 14, 07).

Hello and Happy New Years!
The training meeting we had in our home last December 2006 was great! Daniel taught 9 leaders from Kawama church about 22 hours in two days (can you imagine???). They studied and studied with delight shown on their faces! No complaints but only joy told us how willing and teachable hearts they have! After the meeting, one of them said how “fat” they are (and some of you may know that we African want to be “fat”) in physical and spiritual body. It was so wonderful to witness this event, and we now pray that this growing “fat” should continue and bring more fruits into their lives, family, and church. Thank you so much for being with us everyday in prayer. Without your prayer support, we know that we don’t have any chance!

1. Pray for Churches of Zambia. Strong leadership is in need, and our goal is to focus on this subject. On Saturdays of January, we will be in 14 Miles Baptist church for the Leadership Training. Pray that the leaders of churches will be willing to be in training and spend their time and everything for good work.
2. Pray for safety on the road. We are not planning to go into deep bushes in the raining season, but are still facing bad roads almost everyday.
3. Please remember Enoch and Aaron in your prayers. Especially, Enoch is looking for home church around his school.
December 2006
1. Pray for Churches of Zambia. The strong leadership is in need, and our goal is to focuse on this subject. December 29 and 30, we will have an advanced Leadership Training in our home with about 10 leaders of Kawama Baptist Church. Please pray that this kind of leadership training will help them to become really strong leaders. We are planning to have Leadership Training program with other churches as well.
2. Pray that this is only beginning of Leadership training. Pray that the leaders of churches will want to be in training and spend their time and everything for the good work.
3. Pray for Daniel as he preparing his lessons. It would be a long and difficult time of learning. Pray that the leaders will be alert all 20 hours.
4. Pray for safety on the road. We are not planning to go into bushes in the raining season, but still facing bad road anyhow.
4. Pray for Enoch who will spend his first Christmas apart from his family. Pray that he will have wonderful time with his family in California.
5. Pray for Aaron who is going to be in MK camp from 28 Dec 06 to 3 Jan 07. Pray that he will experience the grace of God even more.
